Tennis (Boys): Varsity vs. Suffield Academy (05/11/26 4:45 PM)

Event Details

In their final home match of the regular season, boys varsity tennis defeated Suffield 7-0. The win improves the team’s final record of 9-3 on the season. Captain Tai Feng was celebrated on his senior day, and he ended his DA tennis career with a blistering forehand winner.

Deerfield dropped just two games across all three doubles contests, with #1 Weldon/Feng and #2 Barry/Webb both winning 8-1 and #3 Fan/Rousou shutting out their opponents. With Suffield’s one extra player, Anderson Berg teamed up with him against fellow teammates Spencer Trees and Ted Freedman for an exhibition match. The Deerfield duo was leading 6-3 when the match was stopped.

Singles continued to dominate, with courts 1-5 all logging at least one 6-0 set. #6 Russell Fan had the toughest match of the evening, but he used aggressive tennis to close out his opponent in straight sets.

It was a great season for the team, full of camaraderie and high-level tennis, but hopefully it’s not done yet! Post-season championship schedules will come out in a day or two, and the team looks forward to competing there over the weekend.
