Tennis (Boys): Junior Varsity vs. Westminster School (04/29/26 3:30 PM)

Event Details

The team secured a hard-fought 5-2 victory against Westminster this week, venturing out to courts tucked deep in the woods for a memorable afternoon of competition. Despite the absence of our trusty manager Ted, the team stepped up to handle a full slate of matches. The doubles point proved to be a dramatic affair, highlighted by an incredible comeback from Carter and Max. After leading 3-0 and then falling behind 3-6, they battled through a marathon set to win 9-8, eventually taking the tiebreaker with a staggering 14-12 score. On a nearby court, John and Jasper were on fire, playing some of their best tennis yet against a very high-level Westminster duo.

In singles’ play, the momentum continued as the team worked toward their five points. Leo earned a special celebration from his teammates by securing his first singles win of the season. Unfortunately, the day was not without its setbacks; Max was forced to forfeit his singles’ match after rolling his ankle when the score was 5-6, though he took it in stride as he headed off on crutches. Even with the long matches, the squad showed great depth and spirit to close out the win.
