Despite the challenging weather conditions, Deerfield secured a solid 5-2 victory. The format featured eight-game pro-sets, with a ten-point super tiebreaker used to decide matches that reached a 7-7 deadlock.
Deerfield gained momentum in the doubles round to clinch the overall team point. John and Jasper teamed up for a convincing 8-5 win, while the duo of Carter and Max had a successful day with an 8-4 victory. Leo and Tommy also contributed a win in their exhibition doubles match, finishing 8-3. While Kyle and Rudy fell just short in a competitive 5-8 doubles set.
In the singles portion of the day, Deerfield took four out of the six counting matches. Rudy, Kyle, Jasper, and Max all delivered strong performances to put points on the board, with Max notably sweeping his opponent 8-0. One of the most competitive matches of the afternoon featured Captain John Liu. Despite re-opening a wound on his knee, John fought hard to force a tiebreaker after a 7-7 split, narrowly missing out on the win with a 7-10 score in the breaker. Carter also engaged in a back-and-forth battle that went the distance to edge out a 10-6 tiebreaker victory. Tommy also added a win in exhibition singles play with an 8-5 score. It was a great day of tennis for the Big Green.
