It was a hard-fought day on the courts as Deerfield and Eaglebrook battled to a thrilling 6-6 draw. The event featured some interesting lineup adjustments, as varsity players John R. and Ted F. stepped down to anchor the top of the ladder for Deerfield.
In the singles portion of the day, John R. set a strong tone for the DA team with a dominant 8-2 victory. While Eaglebrook proved to be tough opponents, taking a few matches handily, the middle and lower portion of the Deerfield singles lineup stepped up beautifully. Rudy mirrored John’s success with an 8-2 win of his own, while Kyle and Jasper fought hard to secure valuable points for Deerfield with solid 8-4 and 8-5 victories, respectively.
Moving into the doubles matches, both teams continued to trade momentum. The duo of Rudy and Kyle put forth a convincing 8-3 win, marking a highlight for the Deerfield squad. Though Eaglebrook countered with strong performances of their own in the doubles format, the overall balance of play throughout the day perfectly reflected the final 6-6 stalemate. It was a spirited afternoon of tennis!
