After a 5-2 record exhibition games in Florida and Deerfield, the varsity baseball opened the season with a convincing 7-1 win over a very talented and well coached Millbrook team. Avery Powers picked up the win on the mound pitching 4 2/3 innings along 5 hits and 1 run while striking out 3. Jackson Glazier pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief. Barrett Adams, Jack Welch, and Connor Mudd led the offense with two hits apiece. Defensively, Deerfield turned four double plays and did not make an error.
