Deerfield Girls Hockey took on Tabor at home this afternoon in the Elite 8 semi-finals. We came out hard, and scored two quick goals: the first was off of a great tip by Reagan Deery ‘28 on a Chloe Cleaves ‘26 blast, and then Milana Shuman ‘28 was given time and space and absolutely sniped a shot in. Sophie Frost ‘26 extended our lead in the second period off of a beautiful shot (assist to Nicole Sciarretta ‘28), but we let Tabor climb back in. Up 3-2 heading into the third, we played a strong final frame and shut down almost all of Tabor’s offense. Izzy Kirby ‘26 was once again excellent in goal, and Keira Austen ‘26 was the well deserved hard hat recipient. After a nice meal of sandwiches post game (thank you to the Wierl family) we hit the road for tomorrow’s championship game against Loomis. Puck drop is at 4pm at Dexter Southfield. We are so grateful for the families, friends, faculty & staff (and their children), day students and community members who filled the stands today!
