Soccer (Girls): Varsity vs. Milton Academy (09/13/25 4:00 PM)

Event Details

On another beautiful fall Saturday, the Big Green girls varsity soccer team extended their winning streak by defeating the visiting Milton Academy Mustangs. With just a minute into the game, the Big Green defense won the ball in their defensive third and countered quickly on the Mustang defense. Eva Bramwell ’26 served in an early cross that Maggie Garbarino ’27 deflected on to Blair Murray ‘27 inside the 18 yar box who sailed her first shot of the game into the back of the net to give the Doors the lead. Both teams exchanged possessions and ten minutes later, Maggie and Blair connected again in the final third. Maggie intercepted a pass between the Miton defenders and she played to Blair in the box. Blair beat her defender and stretched to get the shot off to register her second goal of the game and double the lead.

The Mustangs continued to push forward with their speed and physicality, but were unable to get in behind the Big Green defense anchored by Blythe Gering ‘27, Carolyn Mountz ‘28, Hazel Patton ‘26 and Olivia Austen ‘27 and goalkeeper Winnie Underwood ‘28. A big shout to this group for earning their first shut out of the season!

The Big Green continue their homestand this Wednesday when they host Westminster school on Jamie Kapteyn field for a 3:30pm kick-off. Go Big Green!!
