The Big Green traveled to Meriden, NH for their first away game of the season and came away with their first road victory this fall.

The Big Green opened the scoring in the opening ten minutes of play. Maggie Garbarino ‘27 collected a ball on the flank and drove endline then, served a ball to the near post for Blair Murray ‘27 who has finished the cross for the first score of the game. Two minutes later the Big Green doubled their lead when Maggie was promptly in the right place to finish the goalkeeper rebound from Meryl Gilbert’s ‘27 shot.

The KUA wildcats cut the lead in half when finished a corner kick.

The Big Green regrouped at half time, committed to creating more scoring opportunities.

The Doors realized this goal quickly when Blair played a beautiful through ball to Maggie who went 1v1 to goal and netted her second goal of the game.

Meryl capped the Big Green scoring for the day when she ripped a shot from distance into the upper ninety past the KUA goalkeeper.

A shout out to the backline for their effort and collectively neutralizing the KUA’s opportunities at goal and holding them scoreless in the run of play. Moreover, goalkeeper Winnie Underwood ‘28 had a superb breakaway save in the second half.

With the victory the Big Green improve to 2-1-1 on the season and return home this Wednesday vs. Taft for a 3:45pm kick-off.
