Deerfield opened its season with a strong 3–0 win over Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH), showing impressive teamwork and resilience despite being without two of its three captains. Every player contributed meaningfully on the court, with standout performances across the board in serving, attacking, and defense. Selin Aksoy ‘27 led with consistent aces and kills, while Willow Tugume ‘28, Lily Johnson ‘28, and Madison Stott ’28 made major offensive and defensive impacts. The team showed depth and determination, edging out NMH in a close first set (26–24) and maintaining control in the second (25–20) and third (25–21) to secure the sweep. It was a promising and energetic start to the season, marked by strong individual efforts and cohesive team play.
