The yearly Deerfield vs Taft softball game is always highly anticipated, and this year was no exception. Despite the team’s determination and late rally, Deerfield fell to Taft 7-2 after battling through a game filled with both adversity and highlights.
The team faced a series of challenges, from bloody noses to sprained ankles, but continued to fight through all seven innings. Nicole Lefavour ‘27 led the way on the mound and at the plate, nailing three hits and pitching a complete game with three strikeouts.
Kaylin Alvarez ‘28 added a spark with a rocket to right field and played a key defensive role, switching between left and center field to make several critical plays. Haley Abraham ‘25 collected two hits and showcased her versatility by rotating between center field, first base, and shortstop.
The girls were resilient and flexible with the sudden changes and hopefully this experience will only fuel their drive as we continue our season.
