The Deerfield JV golf squad held off a strong charge from the Eagle Hill School at Crumpin’ Fox in Bernardston, MA, winning their home opener 215-233 from the blue tees. Despite top scores of 37 and 40 from the challenger’s top two, the depth of the Deerfield program ensured the win. John Liu ’26 lead the way for the Doors with a 5-over 41. Cole Bannon ’28 marked his season debut with a solid 6-over 42. Juniors Luca Lyons, Sophie Kamil, and Jack Keller all notched a respectable 8-over 44. Although her score didn’t count, Charlotte McFazdean ’26 also suited up for Deerfield, playing her home course for the first time. The Doors need to wash their polo quickly as they head to Farmington Woods on Wednesday to face Avon Old Farms.
