Swimming and Diving (Coed): Junior Varsity vs. White Mountain (02/15/25 11:00 AM)

Event Details

JV DA Swim had an exciting and successful end to our season at the Nick Whyte Invitational at Eaglebrook this Saturday. Our swimmers went head-to-head with the Eaglebrook and Bement teams, swimming a series of 50-yard sprints. Because this invitational allows swimmers to swim as many events as they’d like, our newer swimmers had the opportunity to try their hand at a number of unfamiliar strokes and all of our swimmers had the opportunity to show off their improvement over the season. “Last one, fast one” was our on-deck motto, and what “fast ones” we swam! We had five DA girls and three DA boys score individual points during the meet. For the boys, Yong Ding came in 17th place, Kenan Okada came in 9th place, and Clark Hess came in 8th place (which is quite an accomplishment when swimming against the skilled and speedy Eaglebrook boys). For the girls, seniors Edie Huffard and Ellie Nam were excited to place individually in their last-ever DA swim meet, placing 15th and 8th respectively. At the top of the girl’s rankings, Julie Yan came in 3rd, Eloise Forrest came in 2nd, and Melody Zhao tied with a talented Bement swimmer for 1st place! As with all of our meets, we learned, high-fived, and cheered a lot along the way – and dropped A LOT of time during our team’s many swims. Us coaches are so proud of the positivity, kindness, supportiveness, grit, and good character that the JV team brings to the pool each and every day; we’re already looking forward to next season!
