The Deerfield Boys’ Varsity Ice Hockey team defeated Northfield Mount Hermon on Wednesday 7-2 on the road. The score, however, was not indicative of how evenly the game was played. In fact, NMH went into the first intermission with a 1-0 lead. Deerfield responded in the second period with a strong offensive output, scoring four goals while NMH tallied only one additional goal in that frame. Owen Andrews ’28 scored the first two before his linemate, Matteo Alvarez ’26, scored the next two. In the third, DA expanded upon their 4-2 lead by potting three early goals. Lukas Machan ’26, Alex Strug ’28, and Will Kertesz ’27, respectively, notched those goals. Once again, Elliott Lennon ’26 was strong between the pipes, turning aside several good chances by NMH throughout the game. The Big Green play next at Choate on Saturday, December 13 at 5 p.m.
