Soccer (Girls): Varsity vs. Wilbraham (11/05/25 3:00 PM)

Event Details

On Wednesday, the Big Green girls varsity soccer team traveled to Wilbraham for the teams final regular season road game. The Doors emerged registered five goals and earned another shutout in the victory.

After a frustrating first half with many scoring chances created but none netted, the Big Green regroup at half time and committed to playing with purpose and not pressure. This mindset shift was successful, as the team collectively netted five goals in the second half on way to the win.

Meryl Gilbert ‘27 opened the scoring when she rocketed a shot from a pass at the top of the 18 yard box from Minjoo Serhant ‘27. In the following kick-off, Meryl converted another shot to double the scoring.

Magda Curylo ‘26 recovered a loose ball at the top of the 18 that she sailed past Wilbraham goalkeeper to give the Big Green a three goal lead.

Maggie Garbarino ‘27 also added to the scoresheet when she drive at the goal and finished her opportunity.

Finally, Athena Grabowski ‘29 converted a deflection in the box to record her first career goal for the Big Green.

Winnie Underwood ‘28 earned the shutout in goal. She was supported by a strong defensive effort from Lily Woods ‘26, Blythe Gering ‘27, Keira Austen ‘26, Hazel Patton ‘26, Olivia Austen ‘27, Nina Capello ‘28, Bridie Weller ‘29 and Nadia Vieira ‘28.

The Big Green return home this Saturday for their final regular season game against rival Choate Rosemary Hall at 11:00am.
