Soccer (Girls): Varsity vs. Hotchkiss (11/01/25 4:00 PM)

On a fall afternoon, the Big Green girls varsity soccer team traveled to Lakeville, CT to face off against class A opponent Hotchkiss School on their turf field under the lights. After a long bus ride, the Big Green established early possession and created goal scoring chances from the opening whistle. The Big Green forwards including; Ryan Rodgers ’27, Maggie Garbarino ’27, Eva Bramwell ’26, Bridie Weller ’29 and Eliza Todd ’27 each created dangerous scoring opportunities. Before halftime, the Big Green converted one of their dangerous chances when Blair Murray ’27 turned her defender off a throw in from Olivia Austen ’27. Blair served a ball into midfielders Minjoo Serhant ’27 and Meryl Gilbert was able to get on the end of the cross and volley it into the back of the net at the back post.

The Big Green held the lead throughout the majority of the first half, but eventually Hotchkiss broke through the score the equalizing goal. The Doors continued to press in the pursuit of another go-ahead goal. Despite many great chances, the score remained level at the final whistle.

The Big Green will now head into the final week of the regular season. On Wednesday, they will travel to Wilbraham and Monson for a 3pm kick off and conclude with Choate at home at Saturday. Kick off is set for 11:00am.
