Deerfield Academy earned a decisive win over Hopkins Academy, sweeping the match in straight sets (25–13, 25–16, 25–14). The team came out strong in the first set, with Blake Coleman ’27 and Jessica Wu ’27 each serving 8 consecutive points to give Deerfield early momentum. Madison Stott ’28 led the attack with consistent kills, supported by Ella Ylvisaker ’29 and Willow Tugume ’28. On defense, Audrey Tjoeng ’29 and Jessica Wu ’27 made several key digs that helped keep plays alive.
In the second set, Blake continued her serving dominance with a 7-point run, and Clara Lipman ’27 added impactful kills. The team maintained steady offensive pressure, with strong contributions from Lily Johnson ’28 and Jessica Wu ’27. The third set allowed for some switching up of positions, giving players the opportunity to try out new skills. Clara Lipman ’27 stepped into the setter role and did a great job managing the team’s offense. Willow Tugume ’28 also stood out in the third set with 6 aces and contributed across the board with digs and kills. Deerfield’s strong serving and good teamwork were central to their winning performance.
