In front of many friends and family for Fall Family Weekend, the Big Green took on the Big Red of Exeter. Both teams were working to establish their rhythm to start the game with the Big Green controlling most of the possession. The Big Green inked the score sheet halfway through the first half when Magda Curylo ’26 stepped up and converted a miscleared corner kick into the back of the net. The Big Green doubled their lead in the second half when Sally Dance ’29 received a service from Hazel Patton ’26 that she took to goal and put in the back of the net. The Doors added another goal in the second half when Ryan Rogers ’27 played a through ball to Blair Murray ’26 who’s shot was deflected and followed by Meryl Gilbert ’27 who ensure it was in the back of the net.
The Big Green defense of Blythe Gering ’27, Magda, Hazel, Bridie Weller ’29, Nina Capello ’28, Lilly Woods ’26 and Carolyn Mountz ’28 and goalkeeper Winnie Underwood ’28 earned the team’s second shut out of the season.
The squad will return to action this Saturday, when they host Andover. Kick-off is set for 3pm.
