On another gorgeous fall day in the Pioneer Valley, the Big Green welcome the Big Blue of Andover in a class A match-up. To kick-off the game, the girls varsity soccer team celebrated it’s six seniors for their positive impact on the Deerfield girls soccer program. This year’s senior include: Keira Austen, Eva Bramwell, Magda Curylo, Eleanor duPont, Hazel Patton, and Lily Woods.
It was a back-and-forth game with each team exchanging possession and trying to establish a rhythm to the game. The Big Blue broke through over halfway through the first half. Despite great individual effort, the Big Green was not able to execute their game plan and create significant momentum in the attack. The Doors rallied defensively to keep the speedy and physical Andover forwards off the scoreboard.
The Big Green will return to action this Wednesday when they host Suffield Academy. Kick-off is set for 3pm.
