With a number of players still out of the lineup due to injury, new faces in new places appeared to be a theme for Deerfield during this game. Cole Barrett ’26 had his first chance to play striker, Stefan Flaska ’28 played center back for the first time, and Felix Alfaro played as the riight outside back for 70 of the 90 minutes… and, in all three cases, they played well in their respective positions. Cole made the SPS defense unsettled, and, through perseverance, gave Deerfield the lead in the 65th minute of the game with a patient possession, finding his way toward the goal and beating the SPS goalie to the near side. In the 75th minute Teddy Cyr ’27 slotted home a header goal from a corner kick by Alexander Salvo ’26 . The final goal was score in the 85th minute by Ken Hata with a simple and accurate diagonal pass from Cole Barrett.
