Soccer (Boys): Junior B vs. Avon Old Farms (10/15/25 3:15 PM)

Event Details

On Wednesday, October 15th, the boys junior B footballers returned to the pitch after a long layoff with a road trip to Avon, CT to face Avon Old Farms. The lack of recent games didn’t seem to bother the team, as they jumped out to a 7-0 lead and eventually won 7-1. With the win, Deerfield remain unbeaten at 6W-1D-0L.

Deerfield didn’t waste any time getting on the board, with Hunter Henderson ’27 scoring his 4th goal of the season in the 2nd minute for a 1-0 lead. Alastair Ylvisaker ’28 doubled the lead in the 14th minute with his 5th goal of the season and Leif Anderson ’27 scored his first career goal in the 25th minute for a 3-0 lead. Just when it seemed that half-time would set in, Deerfield scored a flurry of 3 more goals in the last few minutes to double the lead. Teddy Hamadeh ’26 scored twice, in the 30th and 33rd minutes, sandwiched around an Aaron Koo ’28 strike that hit the post before going in in the 32nd minute, giving Deerfield a comfortable 6-0 lead.

For the 2nd half, sweeper Ryan Stenzler ’27 replaced Desmond Drake ’29 at keeper, while Drake moved up to right midfielder. Mac Barry ’29 quickly added to the lead in the 39th minute with his first career goal to increase the lead to 7-0. AOF struck back in the 40th minute with a beautiful strike for the final 7-1 margin. Nate Braddock ’29 saw his first game action this season and played some valuable minutes at defense.

Quad squad will be back in action on October 18th during Family Weekend, with a 2:30 pm kickoff at home against local rival Eaglebrook School.
