Deerfield varsity field hockey welcomed October with a win over NMH on Wednesday. While the Doors kept the ball in their attacking 50 for the majority of the game, NMH’s speed and skill presented the DA defense and goalie, Anna Djidetchian ’28, with challenging plays. The Doors opened the scoring in the first quarter with a goal from Chloe Cleaves ’26, assisted by Eloise Hochberg ’27, less than ten minutes into the game. Peyton Wierl ’26 found the back of the net on an unassisted goal 32 seconds before halftime. In the third quarter, Hochberg converted on a penalty corner pass from Vivan Monopoli ’26. Field hockey joins several other Deerfield teams at St. Paul’s on Saturday, October 4 for a 4:30pm game.
