The DAJVST faced off against Eaglebrook on this chilly Wednesday in our second meet of the season. While many on the team weren’t feeling their best, we were impressed by the grit that our swimmers showed as they worked through illness and injury. Some of our favorite swims from the day include a second-place finish by Julie Yan in the 100-yard breaststroke, a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, swam by Yong Ding, Julie Yan, Eloise Forrest, and Kenan Ozada, and a third-place finish by Melody Zhao in the 100-yard IM. Alayna Cardoso swam in her first ever meet today, crushing two 50-yard freestyle swims! Edie Huffard and Ellie Nam braved the first 500-yard freestyle race we’ve swam this year, and Ellie walked away with the “kick of the meet” award for those hard-fought 500 yards, in tandem with her strong performances in the 50-yard butterfly, 100-yard IM, and 50-yard freestyle. As always, the team brought a wonderful energy to the pool deck and walked away from the meet smiling. We’re excited for our first home meet, Wednesday 2/29 at 4pm, against Bement.
