Deerfield JV Boys Basketball traveled across the street and up the hill to take on a talented Eaglebrook squad on Tuesday afternoon. The Doors came out strong, leading 21-20 after the first quarter behind sharp shooting and excellent ball movement. However, Eaglebrook’s potent offense, fueled by #23’s 23-point performance (19 in the first half), and a highlight-reel alley-oop shifted the momentum.
Deerfield stayed in good spirits despite the loss, with contributions from across the roster. Peter Lakey ’28 and Sam Peake ’28 led the scoring effort with 9 points each, each hitting three three-pointers. Will Machnik ’26 and Marty Rodriguez Pastor ’28 also chipped in 9 points apiece, while Hawk Okpokwasili ’25 added a three-pointer from the top of the key. Sungmin Ahn ’26 impressed with three assists, including two unselfish passes setting up Peake’s triples.
The Doors look forward to bouncing back in tomorrow’s home rematch against Loomis, determined to build on their effort and teamwork.
