The Boys Thirds squash team wrapped up their first win of the season, defeating Williston 6-1 in front of a spirited home crowd. Despite a cold December day, the courts were sizzling with competitive energy and hard-fought rallies.
Deerfield came out swinging, with the top 7 players delivering a dominant performance. Standouts included Carter, who fought through a nail-biting third game to take the match 14-12, and Will, who played a five-gamer that could have gone either way at the end. Additionally, kudos to John, who had a match filled with acrobatics and long points but sealed his match with a decisive 11-6 victory in the fourth.
Williston claimed the exhibition match at the #8 spot, where Tim gave a determined effort but ultimately fell in three tough games.
The win sends DA into the winter break with momentum and confidence. The team will enjoy a few days of practice before some well-earned rest and recovery. Their next test will come in January against Bement School, where DA hopes to pick up right where they left off.
Until then, the team can reflect on a strong performance, with hard work and resilience shining through in every game.
