Deerfield Girls Hockey defeated New Hampton 2-1 in a shootout this afternoon, in the second game of the Watkins tournament. Gill Herr ‘27 scored our lone goal off of a great pass from Amelia Healey ‘27. In the shootout, Olivia Austen ‘27 and Brady Wierl ‘26 converted, while Campbell Krotee ‘25 (who was strong all game) turned away four of the five New Hampton attempts. Charlotte McFadzean ‘26 was the hard hat recipient for her consistent good decisions and team first mentality. It’s a quick turnaround, and a late night, for the Big Green, as our match up against Groton will start around 9:45pm.
