Playing for a spot in the championship game, Deerfield Girls Hockey fell 2-1 to Groton in the third game of the Watkins tournament. Despite the late start (puck drop was around 9:50pm), the Big Green set the tone and pace from the beginning. We had the edge in shots and possession all game long, but couldn’t convert on our opportunities. Chloe Cleaves ´26 scored our lone goal on a nice unassisted effort, and Campbell Krotee ‘25 played well in goal. Jillian Limb ‘28 was awarded the hard hat for playing with confidence and skating hard in all three zones. We’ll take on Proctor Academy in the third place game at 12pm on Saturday.
