Basketball, Boys: Thirds loses to Loomis

Event Details

On Wednesday, January 29th, the boys 3rds basketball team hosted Loomis in the Barn for the first of two games against them this season. Deerfield were unable to overcome the visitors nearly 50% shooting from the field and dropped to 1-7 on the season with a 58-45 loss. The 1st half was tight, until Loomis went on an early run to take an 8-point lead. Deerfield reduced the lead several times, but it remained 8 at the half, 23-15. Both teams shot much better in the 2nd half, but numerous fast break baskets allowed Loomis to build a 20-point lead midway through the half. Deerfield chipped away at the lead and had it down to 11 at one point, but were unable to get any closer. Tysean Price ’22 led the way once again, scoring 14 points for the home team, while Jack Chorske ’22 also scored in double figures, contributing 10. The boys 3rds team will be on the road for their next game, February 1st against Avon Old Farms, looking to avenge a tight, 1-point loss at home on January 15th.
