Deerfield hosted their rival Choate on Saturday morning on Rowland turf. With the support of a spirited student and alumni crowd, Deerfield took to the field determined to finish their regular season on a high note. Strong play by our midfielders kept the ball in our offensive end for much of both halves. Deerfield recorded 29 shots on goal and scored 8 goals between the two halves. (Raegan Hickey ’20, Maddie Zavalick ’22, Sydney Cresta ’20, and Talbot Von Stade ’21) Senior captain Liv Mikesell ’20 earned the shut-out in goal and her co-captain Christina Halloran ’20 kept the ball safely out of our defensive circle. The senior leadership was pronounced and the seven seniors were recognized after the game. Next, Deerfield will play the 4th seeded Westminster in the quarter-final round of the New England Tournament on Wednesday at Westminster.
