Following a tough loss, Deerfield defeated Frontier Regional School in Deerfield’s Hale Gymnasium in front of a packed audience in a game in which Deerfield never trailed. The game presented a new challenge, as Deerfield faced the first team that served exclusively overhanded, including one player with a blistering jump serve. Deerfield’s players were unfazed, as Xotchil Paez ‘20 and Clara Chae ‘23 effortlessly returned these high impact serves. During the second match, Mia Calcano ‘23 chased an errant pass nearly into the stands to return a serve and put Deerfield up double digits and helping the Big Green earn a convincing win.
