Kimball Union arrived at Deerfield for a 4:15 match-up on our home turf. Threatening skies looked like they were going to thwart our chance to play our second home game of the season, but the clouds did not open up until the end of the game and the weather proved to be ideal for field hockey. From the start, Deerfield pressured KUA’s defensive unit relentlessly, and were able to capitalize on some corner plays and lifted shots. Every healthy member of our team had a hand in today’s win and many girls played well in new positions. Goals were scored by Sydney Cresta ’20, Raegan Hickey ’20, Grace Dumond ’22, Maddy Zavalick ’22, Lucy Miquel ’20 and Christina Halloran ’20. Lily Steinwold ’21 and Liv Mikesell ’20 shared time in our net. Next, we play Loomis on their turf on Saturday afternoon.
