The Boys Junior A Soccer team played their first game today in what was only their third day on the field together. They made a competitive showing against a Brattleboro High School, a team already several weeks into their season, losing 4–1. Deerfield’s goal was kicked in by returning forward Jared Faux after fellow returner Will Shoelkopf’s shot just missed off the crossbar. Returning defenseman Alex Stait had a standout game, and the team enjoyed strong work by its two goalkeepers, returner Crawford Rice and ninth grader Bob Zhang.
