Basketball, Boys: Thirds loses to Loomis

Event Details

On February 20th, the boys 3rds basketball team wrapped up their season with a disappointing 43-31 loss to Loomis at home. With the loss, the team finished with a 7-8 record for the season. Things started promisingly for Deerfield, as the team jumped out to a 17-12 lead midway through the 1st half. It was all downhill from there, however, as Loomis went on a 14-0 run that spanned both halves to seize control of the game. After losing the 5-point lead, Deerfield only trailed by 3 at the half, 20-17, but didn’t manage a point until nearly 5 minutes had elapsed in the 2nd half. By that point, Loomis had a 9-point lead and led for the rest of the game. Once again, David Thomas ’20 led the way with 15 points, while Michael Fadugbagbe ’21 had a season-high 7 points.
