On February 6th, the boys 3rds basketball team hosted Williston at home in the Barn for a 3:30 tip. Deerfield led the game start to finish and won 50-30 to raise its record to 6-5 on the season. After Deerfield built a 15-point lead late in the 1st half, Williston rallied to cut it to single digits at half-time, 23-14. Deerfield started the 2nd half on an 8-0 run to bring the lead back to double digits and never looked back, despite turning the ball over 18 times. Scoring was well distributed for Deerfield, with captains Dylan Bane ’20 and David Thomas ’20 leading the way with 17 and 11 points respectively. Next up for the team is a return date against Suffield, who topped Deerfield 66-44 back on January 12th. The team will be looking to even up the season series on the road on February 9th in a 3 pm tipoff.
