The girls’ JV squad found a bit of a rhythm against Williston away on spring Family Weekend. Stepping up to #1 singles, Whitney Vogt smoked her opponent 8-2. Sasha Hinckley and Acy Cai, at #2 and #4 singles respectively, collected nice 8-4 victories, while Julia Bewkes at #3 singles cranked out an 8-5 win. In doubles, Julia Ferrante and Annabel Gerber hardly broke a sweat as they cruised to an 8-0 victory. Cameron Heard and Liz Tarasi, down in #3 doubles, had a tougher match, but ultimately buckled down to secure a 9-7 victory. The only loss of the day was a well-fought #2 doubles match by Anne Brown and Ally Kell, who were bested 8-6 by their Williston opponents. The win feel great for Deerfield as they settle into teams and a ladder for the season!
