Hockey, Girls: Varsity loses to Noble and Greenough

Event Details

Deerfield Hockey made the trek to Nobles Friday night to take on the defending New England champions. Unfortunately, we came out flat for the second straight game, and the home team scored early in the first period to take a 1-0 lead. Penalties were once again an issue for us, but our PK units were up to the task with very disciplined play. We picked up our pace in the second period, but once again it was the home team that found the back of the net. We headed into the third period down 2-0, but finally found our skating legs in the final frame. We put a bunch of shots on net (finished with 21 for the game), but couldn’t solve a strong Nobles goalie. Though proud of our third period effort, the search for consistency continues, and we hope to put it all together against BB&N tomorrow. Liv Mikesell ‘20 was excellent in goal with 30 saves, while Brianna Felice ‘21 and Ellia Chiang ‘21 were both workhorses in all three zones. Thank you to the Mullowneys for the pizza, drinks and desserts after the game!
