After a hike through the woods and a shortened warmup, the team was a little slow to get going on this hot and humid day. About halfway through the first half, the team settled in and began creating opportunities. Not long after, Alexander Grosse’s well placed shot off a set piece put us ahead 1-0. Today’s win was a total team effort. Many players were asked to play in new positions and did so happily. Though it was not the prettiest game of our season, that didn’t interfere with the effort that was given by everyone. The second half was exciting with a lot of action on either side of the field. The second half culminated with a beautiful strike from outside the box by Axel Mattsson that was driven into the top right corner.
