This weekend Deerfield Volleyball headed down to Choate to play three different matches against tough competition. Our final match against Pomfret was definitely the highlight of the day. All of our hitters were in the positives, led by Julia Bewkes ’18 (+1.00), Lara Akande ’20 (+0.750), and Imani Kindness-Coleman ’18 (+0.500). Our outside hitters put up a show in the service area, Georgia Quesnelle ’18 serving without any errors, and Camila Navarro ’20 putting down 8 aces and 0 errors on 20 attempts. Deerfield was able to take the match quickly in a 3-0 decision, and head back to Massachusetts.
After an extremely long day of volleyball, we are proud of the girls for their endless positivity and devotion to our mission. Through exhaustion, soreness, a couple missing teammates and some sickness, our girls pushed through to play some great games this weekend.
We are looking forward to heading down to Loomis on Wednesday and to have some extra practice time next Saturday, with no scheduled match.
