JV Volleyball headed to Williston on this beautiful Wednesday afternoon feeling confident and ready to play. We played a solid match at Williston, ending with game scores of 25-12, 25-7 and 25-23.
The first game started slow as we trailed by three. However, stellar serving by Izzy McDonald, Claire Kwan and Steph Martinez led us to a 12 point lead, with Juliette Lowe completing an outside hit to win the game. The second set flew by as Cynthia Lugo and Tess Mannix served 12 consecutive points. Caleigh Manguilli assisted with powerful hits to increase our lead and win 25-7. The third set was a come from behind win. Trailing by 8 points, it felt that a comeback was out of reach. However, Soo Oh, Tori Hansen, Maddie Lee, Cynthia Lugo, Izzy McDonald and Claire Cummings wouldn’t give up. The team battled back. The longest and most exciting volley of the game which had everyone making strong hits and passes, led us to a 25-23 win.
This match had everyone on the court and all players making contributions leading us to a 3-0 victory over Williston.
