Boys Jr. A Soccer traveled to Wibraham and Monson Academy on Saturday. After carrying much of the play during the first half, Elliot Flagg was able to knock home a ball from a excellent corner kick by Noah Jung to send us into half-time with a 1-0 lead. After WMA tied the score with penalty kick about 10 minutes into the second half, the Big Green came out with renewed determination. Jared Faux stole an attempted clear, beat a defender and the goalie to put us up 2-1. Not long after that, Jared was able to knock in a ball that came off the goal post following a shot from Andy Han who beat his defender out of the left corner. A strong effort by our defense, including Alex Strait and Teddy Donohue, as well as our goalie Matt Gardner stifled any rushes that WMA tried to put together. A key for our victory was the improved play of our central midfielders – Eric Wang, Adrian Yao, Jason Liu, and Noah Jung.
The team is back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Suffield for a 3:30pm game.
