Gale stops 50 in Tie Against KUA

The boys varsity hockey team skated to a 1-1 draw against # 2 Kimball Union Academy (17-3-1). After beating KUA 1-0 earlier this season, the boys knew they were in for a tough game. Fortunately, the Big Green were able to find the first goal of the game when Michael Holland ‘19 tucked one passed the KUA goalie with 8:11 to go in the first. A great shot from the point by Defenseman Henry Bishop ‘17 set up the play. Going into the locker room after the first, DA had managed to weather the storm and created some quality scoring chances of their own. The second and third period however, would see Thomas Gale ‘19 turn aside 38 shots, bringing his total save count to 50 on the night. KUA would find the equalizer midway through the third period and after a scoreless overtime period the game would end 1-1. Despite getting out-shot, the boys varsity hockey team managed to get a result against one of New England’s best teams and will go into Saturday’s contest looking to get back in the win column.
