Cycling defeats Killington

Event Details

The cycling crew headed up north for the Killington time trial, a grueling 4.1 mile 1,100 ft climb against the clock.  The weather conditions were perfect for this year’s event and the squad hit the climb under blue skies and windless conditions.  Max and Julien rode in the “A” category for the first time and climbed extremely well, contributing their first points of the year in the highest racing class.  Alex was next on course and suffered his way through the climb and pushed himself beyond what he thought he could accomplish finishing in a well-earned 5th place on the day.  Last out of the start house was Liam who set a blistering pace up the climb, picking off riders who starting minutes ahead of him.  He crossed the line at 17:12, winning the day by over a minute and taking a minute off of his 2015 time.  After two races, the Deerfield boys are winning the “A” series with 222 points and look forward to a weekend of racing in the East Coast Collegiate Championships in Turner’s Falls this weekend.
