Heather Liske graduated with honors from Haverford College in 1995 and continued her studies in English during summers at the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College, earning her MA in 2003. Familiar with the boarding school experience, Heather started her teaching career at her alma mater, Western Reserve Academy (Hudson, OH) and then taught at Groton School (Groton, MA). After leaving Groton, Heather headed west to chair the English Department at Stuart High School in San Francisco, California. In 2009, Heather, her husband Paul Secker, and their daughter Hazel moved to Marrakech, Morocco where Paul taught mathematics at the American School of Marrakech. (Heather had spent her senior year of high school in Rennes, France with School Year Abroad—her fluency in French came in handy.) Heather, Paul and Hazel arrived at Deerfield a month after their return from Marrakech. She lives with Paul and Hazel in Deerfield.
