Jaime Correa is a Spanish and French teacher who came to Deerfield from Bogota, Colombia. He also teaches film at The Experimentory, our summer program. Mr. Correa studied Film and Television in Colombia and then pursued master’s degrees in Film Studies and Cultural Studies in Paris, where he lived for five years working as an English, French, and Spanish instructor. He has published articles on the road movie, visual literacy and Colombian cinema in France, England, and Colombia. In the classroom, he tries to equip students with tools and skills needed to master visual, digital, and media literacy–the literacies of our current age. He lives in Shumway II with his wife, Juliana, and daughter, Olivia.
