During Fall Family Weekend, which runs from October 16-17, faculty advisors will serve as parents’ and guardians’ primary point of contact. Each family will be able to schedule a 15-minute one-on-one conference with their student’s faculty advisor.

Advisor conferences will be on Friday, October 16, between 2:00pm-4:00pm (note: classes end at 1:05pm, the Performing Arts Showcase runs 2:00-3:00pm, and cocurriculars start at 4:15pm), and on Saturday, October 17, between 9:00am-11:30am. The Academic Affairs Office will schedule the conferences through our software pickAtime. To maximize availability, conferences will run continuously this year (no scheduled breaks in between appointments).

Regardless of whether or not they have conflicts, ALL faculty who have advisees should fill out this form by end-of-day on Tuesday, September 22. In the form, advisors should either confirm their full availability or indicate any conflicts they have during the scheduled times. If applicable, advisors may also use the form to note special requests, such as the need for scheduled breaks because of special circumstances. All advisors are expected to have some availability on both days. Please remember that some families can only attend one day of Family Weekend, and we want them to have the opportunity to meet with their student’s advisor. If an advisor is unavailable for any full day, they must receive permission from the Dean of Faculty, Patrick Andrén (pandren@deerfield.edu).

Please Note:
• Cocurriculars start at 4:15pm on October 16. We suggest that coaches (who are also advisors) who live farther from campus change before their conference or pack a change of clothes, so they don’t need to rush home in between conferences and cocurriculars (this also allows more time to meet with parents/guardians).
• Please do not assume that our office has knowledge of other commitments you may have on October 16 and 17, such as athletics, other FFW events, admission interviews, childcare needs/pick up, or other special circumstances. If you have a conflict on Friday and/or Saturday, we kindly ask that you let us know while you are completing your form.
• Regardless of whether or not you have conflicts, if you are an advisor you should fill out this form by end-of-day on Tuesday, September 22.
