Since last Thanksgiving, a dedicated group of faculty and spouses have been leading an important pilot project. Many on-campus families volunteered to begin collecting compost in their homes to help us learn about one aspect of designing a campus-wide composting program. Some of these folks have taken an even bigger role–of transferring the collected compost from drop-boxes back to the Physical Plant. Unless you–the reader–speak up, it has been a thankless job. If you see them on a cargo bike (or even in the hallway) please say thanks to: Paul Secker, Julia Rivello-Lyons, Shannon Savage, and Amie Creagh.
