Spring Visit Day Information

Safford, Pamela – April 1, 2014

Spring Visit Days for newly-admitted students and their families place at Deerfield on Tuesday, April 1, Friday, April 4 and Monday, April 7. Visiting students will be attending classes during periods 6, 2 & 3 on these days.

Varsity coaches, performing arts faculty and co-curricular advisors should plan to meet students and their families in West Gym from 3:30-4:30; teaching faculty are also encouraged to join usat this time so that we may point students in your direction as needed.

10:45-11:15 am – Registration and Welcome (Boyden Library Lobby)
11:15 am – Spring Visit Day Program Commences – Pam Safford, Dean of Admission and Financial Aid & Margarita O’Byrne Curtis, Head of School      

Parents’ Program

11:30-12:15 am – Introduction to Academic Life at Deerfield (Garonzik Auditorium)
12:30-1:15 pm – Luncheon With Margarita O’Byrne Curtis, Head of School (Dewey Squash Center)
1:30-1:45 pm – Reflections by Head of School (Dewey Squash Center)         
1:45-2:30 pm – Outside the Classroom: Supporting the Whole Student (Dewey Squash Center)       
2:45-3:30 pm – Student Perspectives Panel Prospective students join their parents for this presentation  (West Gymnasium)                                   
3:30-4:30 pm – Meet & Greet with Athletics, Arts and Activities (West Gymnasium) Speak with teachers of theater, dance, music, visual arts, coaches and captains of athletic teams and leaders of various student organizations
4:30 pm – Formal program concludes

Students, parents and guardians are encouraged to stay on campus throughout the afternoon and enjoy observing one of our athletic practices or attend a theater, music or dance rehearsal. Guided tours of our campus will also be available at this time
