Deerfield Academy’s Spring production, The Dining Room by A.R. Gurney is a mosaic of 18 vignettes—some funny, some touching, some rueful—which, taken together, create an in-depth portrait of a vanishing species: the upper-middle-class WASP. From the story of an unfaithful wife caught red-handed by her son, to one of a woman’s faded memory at her family’s Thanksgiving dinner, it is a theatrical experience of exceptional range, compassionate humor, and abundant humanity.
Performances are on Tuesday 22, Wednesday 23, Friday 24, May 2012 at 7pm, Thursday 24 at 7:30pm, and Saturday 26 at 4pm in the Reid Black Box Theater. Faculty residents are invited to bring their corridor as a group activity.
The cast includes: Daniel Rivera, Aaron Bronfman, Kate Ginna, Sidney Hulburd, Allie Gerber, Benji Reed, Michael Beit, Brandon Coulombe, Thomas Shuman, Cody Anderson-Salo, Elyse Curtis, Linda Kengne, Elisabeth Yancey, Dorie Magowan, Gaby Espinosa and Sarah Woolf. Crew: Andrew Bishop, Byers Kadow, and Clara Galperin. Stage Managers: Ayesha Kapur and Querube Suarez-Werlein. Assistant Director: Stefani Kuo
