In celebration of Black History Month, the Deerfield Black Student Alliance (DBSA) collaborated with the staff of the Boyden Library to create weekly questions that focused upon significant figures who have improved the life for blacks in America.
Our contest ended with this question: This Oakland California resident, still living, was an original Chicago Eight defendant and a founder of the controversial movement, popular in the 60′s and 70′s, that took political action and preached self defense all for the goal of bettering the lives blacks in America.
