Policy Summit To Explore Youth Politics

A representative from the Close Up Foundation – a non-profit, civic-education organization in Washington, DC – will be on campus on Wednesday, April 6.  Ms. Lindsay Greenberg, the Programs and Outreach Coordinator, will in the lobby of the Dining Hall through the lunch period.

The new Close Up Youth Policy Summit will be a two-week honors program designed to expose high school students to the political process, strategic research, and policy decisions that shape our government. Through a curriculum that combines seminar speakers, on-site study visits, a career-panel, committee work, and a culminating youth convention and Capitol Hill day, participants will work cooperatively to address a range of issues of political importance to American youth.

The program will take place Monday, June 13 – Friday, June 24, 2011, and will be limited to 80 participants.
