Deerfield’s cross country program enjoys the embarrassment of riches when it comes to the gorgeous landscape in which we train. From the lush green fields to the hilly ridge trails and rolling country dirt roads, we take full advantage of our surroundings to augment our training and minimize injuries. In addition to an amazing team spirit, wonderfully warm camaraderie, and steely competitive focus, we firmly believe our location plays an important role in our success. The 2015-2016 season proves to be an exciting one for the girls in green. Division I New England Champions in two of the last three years, the girls work daily to emerge from last year’s growth stage, pushing to return to their winning ways. A sensational new crop of talented young ladies emerges this fall as the core of a team destined to be among the best in New England. Lead by our intrepid senior captains Lauren Ilsley ’16 and Isla Forster ’16, this happy band of young women has already begun to gel into a fun-loving, motivated, and committed unit. Sporting the mantra that “The only easy day was yesterday”, the girls are primed and ready to represent the best of Deerfield Academy.
